Find out which five essential items every woman needs in her fashion tool kit.
Fashion trends can change like the wind. They come in and go out like yesterdays news, barely sticking around long enough for someone to determine which look and style is right for them; and while many women can find a way to make a trend work for her, still, it is always best to start with (and stick to) the basics. Here are five time tested fashion staples no girl can do without. Don these five classics and you will always look and feel glamorous.
- Diamond Earrings: Adding a little ice always makes an outfit fabulous. In the April 2009 issue of Glamour Magazine, Ivanka Trump reveals that diamond studs “reflect more light onto the skin”. She also notes that oval and round shaped studs bring the most sparkle; and don’t worry if real diamonds aren’t in your budget, there are great synthetic versions available for a thrifty alternative to real rocks.
- Chanel No 5: You will feel like fashion (or Hollywood) royalty in this classic scent that is never in nor out of style, but rather one which remains a fragrance institution. Launched in 1921, with its notes of Jasmine, May Rose and Ylang Ylang, Chanel No 5 was the favorite parfum of Marilyn Monroe, which makes it one scent that is sure to induce instant glamour.
- Cashmere: It should be against the law for any woman’s wardrobe to be absent of at least one piece of cashmere. Live in a hot climate? Not to fret, cashmere comes in everything from thick and sumptuous sweaters and scarves, to fabulous lightweight t shirts and wraps; so whatever your coast or climate, cashmere has something to offer everyone; and while diamonds are a girl’s best friend, cashmere sure runs a close second.
- Sunglasses: Bigger is always certain to look more glam; just be sure to find a shape that is right for your face, and remember not to go too big. Keep in mind that you want to wear the glasses, not the other way around!
- A Chic Tote: No matter what the season or trend, always have a go-to tote that can work with anything; and like sunglasses, there are different scales of “big” depending upon your height and body size, so choose accordingly.
